PingLater

PingLater

BY COMMUNITY, FOR COMMUNITY

Never lose a tab again.

Save tabs for later, get reminded at the perfect time. Snooze tabs like emails — they'll come back when you need them.

Getting Started

Quick Snooze

Click any time preset (5min, 1h, tomorrow) to instantly snooze the current tab

Save a Session

Need the tabs later, but not a reminder? Save the whole window (or selected tabs) in Sessions and reopen anytime

Organize

Categorize your snoozed tabs (Work, Read Later, Shopping) for easy access

Snooze Modes

Close Tab

Tab closes now and stops using memory — then reopens when the reminder fires. Declutter and free up RAM.

Keep Open

Tab stays open, you just get a notification. Perfect for active work.

Features

Multi-Tab Snooze Select multiple tabs at once, search by title, open a full-page view for hundreds of tabs, and snooze them together as a named group. Pick a custom date & time with the built-in calendar, and set recurring schedules
Sessions Save a whole window or selected tabs and reopen them anytime — no reminder. Open all tabs, open in a new window, or one tab at a time. Optional autosave takes periodic snapshots (kept separately from your manual saves). Export/import sessions as JSON; full Backup & Restore includes them too
Custom Date & Time Pick any date and time with the built-in calendar
Recurring Reminders Repeat hourly, daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, every N weeks/months — or pick specific days (e.g. Mon, Wed, Fri)
Someday List Save tabs for "someday" without a specific time
Categories Organize tabs with custom categories and icons
Notes Add personal notes to any snoozed tab — they'll appear in the notification
Missed Reminders Computer was off? Reminders will fire when you're back — one by one
Reschedule from Notification Click the notification to reschedule — +1 hour, tomorrow, evening, someday, or any custom time
Keyboard Shortcuts Press ⌥⇧S / Alt+Shift+S to snooze for 1 hour. Plus 5 configurable shortcuts — set each to any preset (5 min, 1 hour, tomorrow, etc.) in Settings, then assign keys in chrome://extensions/shortcuts
Statistics Track your snoozed, opened, and dismissed tabs
Search & Filter Find tabs by title, URL, or category. Smart filters: Recurring, Opening today / tomorrow, Within a week
Light & Dark Theme Switch between dark and light themes in Settings — your preference is saved with your other settings
Auto-Snooze Inactive Tabs Automatically close tabs you haven't used in a while and save them to Someday. Set your own inactivity timer and whitelist sites you want to keep open
Full-Page Pending View Open all your pending reminders in a spacious full-page layout — search, filter by category, reschedule with a calendar, manage groups, and handle hundreds of tabs comfortably
Backup & Restore Export all your data as JSON (reminders, history, sessions, settings), or import a backup / migrate from other snoozers (including Snoozz). Sessions also have their own export/import in the Sessions tab
Wake Now / Wake & Delete From Pending: open a tab right away, or open it and remove the reminder in one tap
Open in a Full Tab Prefer more space? Open PingLater itself in a browser tab instead of the small popup (Settings → Appearance)
8 Languages English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Japanese, Russian, and Korean — switch anytime in Settings → Appearance → Language (or follow your browser’s system language)
History When a reminder finishes (opened or dismissed), it lands in History so you can find and reopen it later

Cloud Sync (Pro)

Optional Pro feature — the only paid part of PingLater. Free PingLater stays fully local with no account. Pro syncs your snoozed tabs, sessions, history, categories, and settings across up to 5 devices. Cloud Sync includes a 14-day free trial.

How to turn it on

On each device: Settings → Cloud Sync (Pro) → paste the same license key → Activate. Chrome may ask once for sync-server access; if the popup closes, reopen PingLater and activate again.

How sync timing works

This device uploads changes automatically. Your other devices catch up when you open PingLater there (and in the background at least every 30 minutes). Use Sync now for an immediate refresh — it is not instant chat-style sync.

What syncs

Pending reminders, sessions (including autosave settings), history, categories, and most settings. Language preference stays per device. Favicons and notification queues stay local.

Not the same as Chrome Sync

Chrome Sync (Google) may sync a few small settings separately. Cloud Sync (Pro) is PingLater’s own optional sync for reminders and sessions across your browsers/devices.

Pro Tips

1

Use Close tab (default) when snoozing — the page is fully closed, so it stops using RAM until it comes back

2

Right-click any link and select "PingLater" to snooze it without opening

3

Set your preferred morning/evening times in Settings for quick access

4

Use "Someday" for articles you want to read but don't need a reminder for

5

Enable Auto-Snooze in Settings to automatically clean up tabs you haven't touched in hours. Add your favorite sites to the whitelist so they're never auto-snoozed

6

Set up keyboard shortcuts in Settings → Keyboard Shortcuts. You get 5 customizable slots — assign each to your favorite snooze preset, then bind keys in chrome://extensions/shortcuts

7

Toggle the light theme in Settings → Appearance if you prefer a brighter look

8

Got too many pending reminders? Click "Open Full View" in the Pending tab to manage everything on a spacious full page with search, filters, and a calendar to reschedule

9

Before updating or switching devices, go to Settings → Backup & Restore → Export Data to save a copy of all your reminders, sessions, and settings. Import it on any Chrome to restore everything instantly

10

Snooze vs Sessions: use Snooze when you want a timed reminder; use Sessions when you just want to park a set of tabs and reopen them yourself later — no alarm

11

Turn on Sessions → Autosave for a safety net of window snapshots. Manual saves stay in “Saved”; autosaves stack separately (up to 30) and skip duplicates if nothing changed

12

Using two computers? Activate Cloud Sync (Pro) with the same license key on each. Open PingLater on the second device to pull the latest — or tap Sync now. Free users can still Export / Import a backup manually
